or so I've heard. In just a couple of days, the world lost 3 legends; Ed McMahon an icon of late nite TV and Publisher's Clearinghouse,
Farrah Fawcet who I grew up watching faithfully on Charlie's Angels and merely a few hours later the shocking news of Michael Jackson's death was broadcast. On the Today show, someone said that the saying goes it's "the elderly, the sick and the sudden". That about sums it up, for these 3 anyway. I can only hope the families of all them are able to take comfort from the scriptures explanation of where they are, "The living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing at all." - Ecclesiastes 9:5,10
...and back to daily life....
I've been busy crocheting a few items; my little friend Chatelaine who is 9 is into scarves but didn't have one. She is learning to crochet but is a ways away from making herself a scarf so she asked if I would make one for her. A scarf in the summer? I'm thinking. That's NOT going to be comfortable in the warm weather of So. Cal. So I had the idea to make something, well, skinny - for lack of a better word. Here's the result:
She liked it. I got carried away with the length, sort of forgetting she's just a wee little thing and the scarf was long enough to wrap around a neck and spin her off like one of those old toys, the top with a string. Even though it's more like a leash than a scarf, she didn't want me to shorten it. I think I'll make a couple and put them on the Etsy site.
The other thing I busied myself with is these moc Crocs. Aren't they just the CUTEST things? There will be many more in a variety of colors and embellishments soon. They're fun to make and oh so cute to look at.
Well, I guess it's time to hit the hay. Hubby's already asleep and the cat's farting some noxious gas that may well render me unconscious if I don't get out from under the cloud. Until next time.....
