County Fair, Weird Food & New Debuts

The San Diego County Fair had it's last day yesterday. The vendors have packed up their weird and sometimes nasty conglomerations and moved on to bless another county with it's delicacies.

This begs the question-What's up with the deep frying?! Just because it can fit in the Fry Daddy does NOT mean it should be!

Take a look at the photo. Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich?! HELLO! Chicken doesn't belong inside of donuts. Deep fried Smores (of which Steve partook and I declined), Zucchini Weeni (hot dog stuffed into a zucchini and fried) Deep fried frog legs ('nuff said), Deep Fried Avocadoes....yuck, yuck and YUCK! They should advertise "Heart Attacks Given Here". The Kookie Cookie had to be about the worst yet. It was chicken between 2 cookies with cream cheese and strawberries. The one thing Steve was determined to try this year was the chocolate covered bacon of which I was forced to taste. The second it hit my tongue it was turned into a projectile object which hit the nearest trash can. GROSS! I can't begin to describe it. So if there fair is coming to you, don't say you weren't warned.

On the more pleasant side, I came across this adorable little gray bunny...cute, huh? I coulda' scooped him up and brought him home with me. Not to be left out is the bunny in drag. He thinks the eyeliner makes his eyes look much bigger.

As they are every year, the flowers were spectacular and I took tons of photos.

High up on my scale of "What the Heck Were you Thinking?!" is this guy. I can't say that I would ever offer my hard earned money to be tied by my feet, elevated in the air so far as to see the circle of the earth and pretend to be Superman. Uh-uh. Sorry. I'd rather have a new purse.

As I said goodbye to the fair for another year, shelved the Pepto Bismol and donned my new Z-Coil shoes (great for those with back problems and fibromyalgia, I might add), I got back down to the task at hand...a pair of earrings a friend ordered. Aren't they quite pretty? The beads were made by hand by a talented lady in Montana and I set them between sterling silver and added Swarovski crystals for added bling. I'll be making more of this type of earring shortly..

As for the crocheted items, these are the latest Moc Crocs-in lime green with cherry buttons. Yummy!
Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think!

Crafting has always been a passion for me. I have yet to stick with any particular medium, as I love to switch it out and try new things. This blog is sort of a testament to that fact. Hope you enjoy...
