I spent the better part of yesterday working on a cake topper for a friend's upcoming wedding. Her colors are eggplant purple, sage green and ivory and it's a garden wedding theme. She's pretty particular about what she likes and she does NOT like the 'cheesy' cake toppers. Can't say I blame her. When we went to look at them, they were mostly plastic and protrayed a bride and groom with mishapen features or of the bride dragging the groom to the alter by the collar. Worse yet were the sheep and cow bride and groom. Serioulsy? This topper is going to be on a small cake that's going on top of a cupcake stand. It's not don't yet, but you can see where it's headed.
I decided having some cute little memory boxes on hand would be a good thing and a coworker of my husband's is having a baby girl. That's what prompted this little box. I put polka dotted ribbon on the bottom but I think I'll paint the top edge with a pink stripe. What do you think? Help me out by taking the poll located on the left side of the page.
Of course I got sidetracked and decided that I needed to make a purse, the first in a series of miniature purses. Hey, if I can't keep buying purses, I'll make 'em instead, right? I'll be listing these very soon on my new website, http://www.designsofdestiny.com/ (but that's currently a work in progress. These are just some flowers that are drying and awaiting placement on different projects...Hope everyone has a great week!
Crafting has always been a passion for me. I have yet to stick with any particular medium, as I love to switch it out and try new things. This blog is sort of a testament to that fact. Hope you enjoy...
