Roses, roses

Yesterday I had my first Deco Clay class.  It was so much fun and I learned so much.  My instructor, Sumi, has been using this medium for 3 years now and the first thing I saw when I entered our workroom was shelves filled with wedding bouquets, little figurines, miniature was like a claymaker's Disneyland.

I was there from 9:15 to 4:30 and loved every minute of it.  Sumi is all of 5'3" and maybe 90 lbs soaking wet but my, oh my, the talent she has is bigger than Bigfoot himself.   She is somewhat of a perfectionist and I ended up making and remaking several roses.  She explained that because we're paying for the course, she wants us to get the best out of it.  She was so sweet and patient and I can't wait to go back for my second trip.  During the next class, we'll be making teddy bears from clay and they're actually pretty cute!  Then it's on to daffodils and gerber daises (one of my favorite flowers).  I have to admit, I never thought I'd be walking out of there with a wreath of roses and seashells!

Crafting has always been a passion for me. I have yet to stick with any particular medium, as I love to switch it out and try new things. This blog is sort of a testament to that fact. Hope you enjoy...
